- New Durham, NH - Chief of Police
The Town of New Durham, NH is seeking a progressive, community-oriented working Police Chief to lead this full-service police department (Operating Budget >$800,000; Capital / Cruiser Budget >$70,000) including authorized staffing of five FT officers (including Chief), two PT officers, one PT Administrative Assistant. With approximately 2,800 residents, New Durham is a quintessential New England community that is part of New Hampshire’s Lakes Region with Merrymeeting Lake at its core. - Waterville Estates Village District - Campton, NH - Finance Administrator
The Waterville Estates Village District, Campton, New Hampshire is seeking an experienced finance specialist/administrator, preferably with municipal experience. The Waterville Valley Estates Village District is located in the beautiful White Mountains and is just two hours north of Boston.
The District is a small governmental entity, governed by NH State Statutes, made up of 537 homes that is funded by property taxes and water rates. The District is governed by a Board of three Commissioners. The District owns and is responsible for maintenance of the Community Center, Ski Lodge and ski area, water system, and many of the roads within its boundary. It also provides administrative support to Waterville Estates Association and its recreation programs.
The District employs a workforce comprised of approximately 25 full-time employees and has an operating budget of approximately $2.9 million. The Village District does not do tax assessments. They recently converted to MTS municipal software that streamlines their accounting processes.
The successful candidate should have experience with finance administration, general accounting practices, accounts payable, accounts receivable and benefits administration Associate degree in accounting or related field and experience in municipal finance preferred; OR equivalent combination of experience and education which demonstrates an ability to be successful in the position. - Newton NH - Chief of Police
The Town of Newton, New Hampshire (population approx. 4600) is seeking qualified candidates for the position of police chief. Located along the MA- NH border, this rural community is just minutes from the Seacoast and 40 minutes from Boston.
The Police Department has an authorized strength of 8 full-time officers including the chief, several part-time officers, and a full-time administrative assistant. The operating budget is approximately $1 million. The Chief is expected to perform all the usual management and administrative duties of the position but given the size of the community may also have responsibilities as a first responder. Although its CALEA accreditation has lapsed, the department is currently in the self-assessment phase seeking re-accreditation.

- West Barnstable MA - Firefighter/Paramedic
The West Barnstable Massachusetts Fire District (year-round population of approximately 3,000 citizens and an additional 6,000 students attend Cape Cod Community College) is seeking highly qualified candidates for the position of full-time firefighter/paramedic. West Barnstable is a seaside village in the northwest part of the Town of Barnstable on Cape Cod. The Department covers a response area of 13.5 square miles and operates 9 pieces of apparatus from one fire station. The Department has an ISO rating of Class 2 in the water district and Class 3 out of the water district. The organization employs 7 full-time, 6 part-time and 40 on-call employees. The department responded to 733 calls in 2023 with 70% being EMS responses, and 2% being fires. The West Barnstable Fire Department functions within a fire district which serves the community as its own governing and taxing authority. The WBFD operates with a 1.6-million-dollar budget.
This is a newly created position that will work alongside one of the already assigned career positions. This position works a 42-hour work week (over an 8-week cycle) working 24 on-24 off-24 on and five days off. Each shift has an assigned group of 6 to 10 call/volunteers for night coverage. These volunteers not only respond to calls but will be trained by the shift on a regular scheduled basis. This position requires experience and a highly self-motivated person.
The community offers a full benefit package that includes health insurance (80% paid by the District), dental insurance, vision insurance, ample sick leave, personal time off, and ample weekly overtime opportunities.
Firefighter Paramedic starting pay is $66,875. Paramedics receive an annual stipend of $2,500. Educational incentives are available ranging from $1,800 for an Associate Degree to $6,000 for a Master’s Degree.
Candidates must be Firefighter I/II certified, have completed NIMS 100 and 200 training, be a National Registered Paramedic, must be able to become a Massachusetts Paramedic with all current required certifications, and obtain a valid Massachusetts driver’s license. Fire Instructor and Fire Officer certifications preferred.
Candidates should have a minimum of one year of related fire service experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, certification, licensure, and experience.

The position serves as the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of the Department and is a key member of the department’s command staff. The new Deputy Chief will have an exceptional opportunity to participate in a succession plan designed to allow the Deputy to advance when the current Chief retires (anticipated to be in 5-8 years). The Deputy Chief will be responsible to lead and manage training, coordinate grant programs and applications, lead the transition to a paperless organization, and function as the primary human resources officer for the department. The Deputy is on-call 24/7 and expected to work around the needs of the District.
An associate degree (or equivalent) in Fire Science, Emergency Management, Emergency Medical Services, Homeland Security, Business or Public Administration is required (Bachelors or Masters preferred). Candidates are required to have or obtain, NIMS 100, 200, 300, 400, National EMT licensure (paramedic preferred), ProBoard certification as Firefighter I/II, Fire Officer I/II, Fire Instructor I/II, Fire Inspector I. Candidates must have or obtain a valid Massachusetts Driver’s License. Candidates must be credentialed as a Massachusetts Fire Chief within 18 months of appointment.
Candidates must have a minimum of ten years of related fire service experience and five years of supervisory experience within a career or combination department. The District offers a full benefit package that includes health insurance (80% paid by the District), dental insurance, vision insurance, ample sick leave, personal time off, 4- or 5-day workweek and a flexible schedule. The salary range is dependent on qualifications at the time of employment. A take home command vehicle is provided. Salary range $143,000 - $153,000. MRI’s assessing group is a team of 12 professional assessors and appraisers who provide a full scope of assessing and revaluation services to nearly 30 coastal and adjacent communities New Hampshire in Maine.
The Municipal Assessor position is responsible for appraising and assessing real and personal property and for the administration and maintenance of all records necessary to administer the assessment programs for MRI’s municipal clients in Maine.
Requirements
- Knowledge of the principles, methods, techniques and laws that govern property valuation in Maine.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with taxpayers, municipal employees and elected officials in a municipal office setting.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Experience as an Assessor or Assistant Assessor in Maine preferred.
- Certification Maine Assessor designation, or coursework leading to certification required.
The position requires frequent travel to client communities in York and Cumberland counties. A valid Driver’s License and the ability to pass a comprehensive background check are required.
