The Town of Lincoln, ME is seeking a progressive, community-oriented Police Chief to lead this full-service police department (Operating Budget $1,343,270; and Capital Budget $60,000) including authorized staffing of 13 FT officers (including Chief), 2 PT officers, 1 PT ACO, and 1 FT Administrative Assistant. With approximately 4,900 residents, Lincoln is a quintessential New England community that is at the core of the Lincoln Lakes Region. Lincoln is approximately 75 square miles, with 19 miles of Penobscot River frontage, 13 pristine lakes covering 4,300 acres, and 22,000 woodland acres. Renowned for its’ fishing, hunting, hiking, and camping, it is said that “all roads lead to Lincoln.” With easy access to I-95 and Route 2, Lincoln is just 49 miles north of Bangor and the University of Maine at Orono. The Town has a Council-Manager form of government with an appointed Town Manager and an elected 7-member Council.
A bachelor’s degree in a related field is preferred. At least five years in supervisory, command or administrative positions, or any equivalent combination of education and experience which demonstrates possession of the required knowledge, skills, and abilities; or any equivalent combination of education and experience.
